Mary here,

My wonderful guy, Willie, is about to have his third try at chemo next Wednesday.

He only gets 4/5 good days out of the 21 day cycle but he's looking better as well as eating and drinking again.

He can now walk without a cane and his pain is very minimal.

Maybe there is something good about this toxic stuff after all, although the recovery is crummy.

I'm almost optimistic enough to start hoping for a remission.........maybe.

Thankyou folks.

Yes, it's a really rough ride but if there's something to be gained........

I was a total skeptic and frightened for Willie at first, thought it might finish him off, if I can be that honest.

It's just wonderful to see him doing well by comparison to a couple of months ago.

Willie and Mary,

One of our other brothers quote is that every day is a bonus.

I would like to thank you for keeping us informed. For me personally, I dread chemo, but you have helped me by letting us know the encouraging progress.

I continue to wish the best for you and your family.

Hey Mary,

Yeah, chemo is not fun. I had about the same as Willie - 4 or 5 days out of each 3 week cycle. Lots of nausea and so tired I could barely get out of bed.

But it raised my 5 year stage II lung cancer survival rate from 45 % to 65 %. I kept telling myself that it was worth it. Had to hang on to something.

Good luck to you both,

Jim
