Pathology report Interruptation :Please

Hi Guys, Just been pouring over my pathology report, still a bit confused as to the following statement, hoping for some help in interrupting please.


"In slice 2 carcinoma focally involves the right posterior surgical margin of excision within the prostatic capsule over a length of 0.5mm. Carcinoma at the margin shows mucinous differentiation and has a gleason grade 4 appearance.
No Extraprostatic extension is seen."

My question - Is this a positive margin ?

Stage 2 Margin status- Focal Involvement

After two years it hardly matters, but take a look at how much .5 mm is. I think that if it was a true positive margin it would have told you by now in terms of rising PSA -- especially with the ultra-sensitive test

Geezer, Yes I have been blessed, I am not disputing that, I was just interest to see what other thought regarding the margin status. Thanks for your reply.

I would say academically you are correct. But so far, it would seem a low PSA trumps an open margin.

Yes NotHard,, Goodlife has is right low PSA trumps.. You can raise the anit on that big fat zero!

Only issue at this time is ED but getting better
