This is to just let you know that Peter is working with the ad agency that provides banners here at HealingWell. I personally have noticed four ads that cause pages to not load at all. They are in reference to mortgage ads (scammers in the Las Vegas book) and with two ads for automotive insurance.

If you are waiting for a HealingWell page to load and you see these ads then it probably won't load and the only recourse is to hit the "refresh" button on your browser. If you see this happening, just do the refresh and you are good to go. You can even do this in the login screen. You may have to do this more than once.

Sorry for the inconvenience folks but it has been reported back to the agency. I'd love to not have the ads but as you know they pay the bills for this website. We can get rid of these ads if any of our millionaire friends would just send Peter a large check. LOL Or you can send me the check and I will personally come out and hit the refresh button for you...:-)

Tony

Dumping the cookies seemed to clear it up for me, and yes, it was always the insurance ad or the jumping girl financial aid ad that was on the page.

142,
That does help. I have reported this info to Peter. There is still a problem but clearing browsing history and cookies seems to be the best we got right now. I did 40 refreshes in a row after ward without issue...

These guys are worse than spammers....

Things seem to be worse now (8:35 CDT) than yesterday. Cache clearing no longer helps. I just get the Mortgage Rates banners most of the time.

I find in cases like this Firefox can work better than Internet Explorer.

I was having the same issue in Firefox, however. I do like Firefox the most.

G6,
I have a Mac using Safari, and PC's using IE 7 and IE8 and Firefox. ~ it's the same for me.

However, I just logged in today and I have not had an issue yet...

I think this is a result of the banners and whomever provided them.

From Peter in the Moderator Forum:

"This should be fixed. They pulled the renegade ads. Let me know if you have any other problems today.

He posted this about an hour ago. If you see this happening tell us what ad it is and it will get dealt with. Thanks to all posting ideas...

Maybe this is in the process of being fixed, but one or more of the banner ads at the top of the page is currently referencing "prostrate cancer." I know the word is often mis-spelled, but probably shouldn't be at the top of the forum page.

Hahaha.
I see it. LOL...common mistake too. Since a third party sells the ad space and the fourth party is responsible for content, I doubt we can get that fixed. But I'll let Peter know. Funny stuff however...
