Wednesday 4/20/2011 was my final review at the Cleveland Clinic of the AUS AMS800 implant
I was originally concerned about leakage and size cuff.
I asked about double cuff and Dr. M. stated he only did that if one didn't work.
Double cuffs may cause a problem and if cuff is done correctly it should suffice.
4/20 CC did the Xray showing the unit activated vs deactivated and all was well.
Note: Xray Tech said don't deactivate either!!
Spoke with P.A. Melissa and Dr Montague and both asked how I was doing..
Well Dr. M did good- I am pad free and have been since 3/9/2011.
Do I leak a little - yes especially if I put away Jr before he is done with his job.
Lifting weights, shoveling mulch etc just depends if I leak or not.
One time at Y - I leaked and next time I wore pad and didn't.
I did 3 truckloads of mulch (shoveling into wheelbarrow and then dumping )this week and didn't leak.
I waited 10 years after by RP to have this done.  I couldn't be happier with the results.
I took 2 road trips since activation - 1 overnight and 1 wk.   It's great not packing 8 pads per day and at least 2 extra pair of underwear just in case.
Thanks to all of you who answered my questions, had thoughts and prayers.  It worked.
I have passed on this website to others since it has great info - not only on Prostrate but other ailments which affect family and friends
Thanks again
Tom from Ohio.

That's good news. I  like mine also. Let's hope our little devices work for a good long while.
