After 18 months I am still wet. I spoke to my uro about an An Advanced Male Sling and he suggested physical therapy first. My question is, are there any guys out there who have been successful getting dry using physical therapy?

Hi Len,

I'm almost 11 months out and use 1 pad, sometimes 2 per day, can you tell me what physical therapy entails. I do my kegels everyday but still drip.

Thanks

It is a whole series of kegel exercises you do daily and the at the end of the week electrodes are attached to measure how much your pelvic floor muscles have strengthened.

I went through the physical therapy. I had biofeedback, ultrasound imaging and TENS stimulation. The therapist was convinced I was doing the kegels correctly and my muscles were strong. I still leaked.

I had a short sphincter and no amount of kegeling would ever fix me.
The sling works. The major downside is the length of time it takes to pee.
2.5 to 3 minutes.
Send me an email if you want more info.

I had 8 weeks of physical therapy after my RRP. The therapist measures the strength of your kegels using electrodes. You are to do different kegel exercises daily and your progress is measured weekly during your therapy session. The exercises are increased weekly. I was dry at 6 months but I don't know how much of it was due to the therapy.
