I recently got an iPad 2 and found that there are a few apps that my or may not be of use to you in understanding some of the procedures. If anyone has given these a spin I'd sure like some feedback. I'm also taking it to my next uro visit to get his opinion on accuracy.
Anyway here is the list I have used so far and a bit of a review:
draw MD Urology; Free: This app lets your doc draw on the images and place catheters, before and after prostatectomy so you can see a visual of what will take place. I like this app as it really shows what the removal of the prostate looks like.
3D Male Reproduction; 99¢: The images are kind nice and you can view them from different angles via 3 dimensions. However the organs are not labeled and there is no complete 3D view, just separate items. There is some text that does offer some insight but not specific to prostate cancer.
The Urogenital System - iPad edition; $2.99: Somewhat 3D app but this one has more detail in the images and provides some text of the parts but again not as complete and doesn't allow zooming in on your choice of part, only specific areas.
Miniatlas Erectile Dysfunction; $6.99: Nice illustrations but very weak on text and detailed description, quite basic.
Seems to me there is a market for a PCa app that has full illustrations of all the affected areas, detailed labels, descriptions of procedures and side effects. If anyone has found an app that I haven't please provide some feedback.
