Good morning all -

Just got my first PSA report, 3 months after seed implant:

0.5

Sounds good to me; it was 4.8 just before the seed implant.

4.8 to 0.5 seems to be quite a drop. I *think* this is good news!

I've emailed my radiologist for his interpretation.

Anyway, I sure hope today's 0.5 is as good as it seems, and that it remains low. I know there can be a bounce a year or so later, but going from 4.8 "pre", to 0.5 "3 months post", seems to be really good news.

Any thoughts from you experienced guys?

Age 62, Biopsy September 2010.
Diagnosis: PSA 4.8, Gleason 3+3, Stage T1c, 4/12 positive cores at 10-40%.
Palladium 103 implant February 1, 2011.

Tom...as I indicated in your other thread...anything that was 1/2 or less of your pre-treatment PSA is good news. So, .5 is great news and you are definitely headed in the right direction!  Here's to a whole string of continued lower readings.

Best regards,

Age 62 (64 now), G 3 + 4 = 7, T1C, PSA 4.2, 2/16 cancerous, 27cc. Brachytherapy 12/9/08. 73 Iodine-125 seeds. Procedure went great, catheter out before I went home, only minor discomfort. Everything continues to function normally as of 12/8/10. PSA: 6 mo 1.4, 1 yr. 1.0, 2 yr. .8. My docs are "delighted"! My journey:

Sounds great, Tom.  I don't know much about seed treatment, so I'll just happily agree with Tudpock (Jim).  Congratulations!

Certainly good news! It is good to hear in my case because I am a month out from geting seeds and won't know anything about outcome for awhile.

Tom,
That's good news. Hopefully it will fall to .2 and stay there.

Fantastic news!
My husband had his Brachytherapy 9 days after yours and he got his 3 month results this week too. His PSA was a lot higher than yours pre-implant at 11 so his 3.83 now is a far cry from your 0.5 at the moment – that must have felt great hearing that.
The champagne is on ice for us for this Friday evening. Early days but we’ve decided 3.83 at this stage justifies it.
Go celebrate, that is a wonderful result.

Thanks for all the good wishes. As they say ... time will tell. But it sure feels good to see the number go *down*! Especially with the side effects I'm experiencing.

Overthepond: from what I've heard and read, seeing the PSA number drop at least in half on the first post-treatment PSA test is good news! So enjoy the 3.83, and let's hope both our readings keep dropping on the following tests.
