Hi everyone,

Well i pop in here most days to have a read but as my health settles down i find myself posting less about myself so i thought an update was in order.

I am now 5 months post op from an open RP and have been at work for 7 weeks after 15 weeks off after my surgery. I am now totally dry 24/7 after learning to recognise the new signals i get from my bladder, the slightest twinge and i go to pee. I did not even realise my bladder signals were subtely different till i decided to try without pads and had a couple of accidents, it is strange how we have to take notice of our body letting us know things slightly different.

I have settled back in at work now and i am suprised that already people have stopped asking if i am ok and it is just back to normal. You could consider it disrespectfull that they no longer "look after" me but being accepted as being back to normal is also a positive thing and i like that. I am an engineer and my job is physical and i am just starting to do the heavier stuff now, a couple of days ago i picked up a heavy steel vice to fit onto the milling machine and i was fine and it must have been about 25kgs/55lbs, i was pleased with that as well.

As regards the dreaded ED, we are getting more adventurous now and having fun even if i dont have an erection but finding problems with Caverject Dual Chamber system, prior to my surgery the max dose of 20 microgram gave me a 100% erection, now it gives maybe 70% so using two injections with 10 in one side and 15 in the other makes it lots better :))

Due to the dreaded penile shrinkage (lost 1.5 inches flaccid) i have less space to move the injection site around for caverject and was finding it PAINFULL to inject, so for a therapy evening i am using a VED pump to get my flaccid state back towards my pre op state and of course it improves the blood flow without stabbing myself. It is all about improvising towards your own needs isnt it ?

Finally i am a biker but due to my creaky legs (too many accidents and surgery) i am getting my trike "The Barbarian" back on the road this month and getting the wind in my hair and the bugs on my teeth from huge grins again VERY soon.

Life is good and do not take it for granted, grab it by the scruff of the neck and live your life to the max, i know i am!!

Take care and have fun. Bob, the crazy the English guy ;-)
