I was offered TUR-P may 2010 because had been on
permanent Foley catheter since jun 2009 - complete
Had to wait until january 2011 because wanted to have
TUR-P done by green laser, and this is only available at
one single clinic/hospital over here in Norway.
Also got the impression that laser is not the "Gold standard"
for TUR-P on pca patient.
However , the process lasted 60+ minutes, the surgeon afterwards
told me "laser ok in your case", after 2 days urinary functions
100% ok, a very minor bleeding after 8 days, since then
no problems at all, despite wearing Foley catheter for 19 months.
Just wanted to report this in case someone conciders TUR-P
done by laser.
