okay guys a month a go I came to know of something called priapisim. I went to the doc after having 24 hours of Erection. then when I went to the doc he told me I need to go immediately to ER, they suck the blood out end injected me with something called epepherine or something to make go a way the erection. didn't work. so, the doc said he want to do the T-shunt. To a guy who's never had any sexual problem before, asking him to do any kind of surgery on his penis is kind of alarming and panicking situation. So I refused and went home, the day after I was again in ER. the doc performed on me the so cold T-Shut in one side only (I guess can be done two places or three). The erection didn't even go a way completely but it was way better. To make long story short slowly in about a week the pennis went down. we did MRI it was okay at list that what he told me. No any kind of blood cancer on me which is good. After a month now, my penis is not having an erection at all. I'm going crazy.. Is there any one who can give me advice or what is going on. every time I go to my doctor he talks about implant and stuff that is driving me crazy.. anyone who has same kind of treatment as mine and want to tell me what are my option will be great.. also if anyone know best urology center around the U.S please let me know for I am knew to all this kind of things. Thank you.

dino: what a shocking story that is the one thing my Dr had fear of for me as well. By chance are you using Tri Mix. He told me that caverject was less likely to cause priapism. I still wanted to try trimix.

Have not had the problem that you had. With that being said my Dr also pushed me at every appointment for an implant. I since have fired that Uro. Tomorrow I see a new one. At this time I am happy with the injections.

I am so sorry you are having this problem and have not been able to get the discussion and information with your doctor.
I am sorry you waited 24 hours before seeking medical help - if you were using an injectible like Trimix - did the doctor talk to you about side effect and how long you could safely have an erection ( 4 hours is max length of time) and then get it flaccid again with Sudafed antihystamine.

The hazard of such a long period of being erect can cause structural as well as nerve damage to the penis. It can respond in time, but will need a good rest before attempting arousal. Depending on the trauma - blood may not be able to flow properly in and out of the penis due to collapse of the capillaries - as well as the nerve endings responsible for setting in motion an erection may be traumatized.

A sustained erection may lengthen a flaccid penis but cause difficulty in achieving an erection - I would be patient for a while longer since ( I am assuming) you had ED issues before.

to all of you, I thank you so much for your answer. I wish I know all this before. let me clarify few things. I never used any thing sexual product like viagra trimix etc..or had any sexual problems prior to that day. but 3 times for the past year I had this strong erection and after like 6 hours of painful erection went a way. 3 time on the entire year and prior to that I never had. Things that might help others: Now after I had this problem I start going back to see if I did something different in my life. yes I did I'm not a kind of a guy that drinks (never drink before that ) I broke up with a girl friend exactly a year a go (5 years old relationship) and I start drinking time to time heavily, and start smoking cigarettes when I drink. actually this happened those three times when I was having shot of tequila. but I never make the connection prior tho this problems. now I start reading and understanding much better of my situation.

turning to me. my question are. is my problem is permanent?

is there any one who has the T-shunt and can tell me what was the out come of their situation in long run?

to corvetteman3 do not listen to that doctor that pushes you for the implant even my uro insisted to do the t-shunt on the other side of the head of the penis. I have told him lets give time to the body to react ( have told him this on Thursday and we made appointment for upcoming Tuesday to do the T-shunt again. by the time Tuesday came the penis was tremendously down ). and I was right the blood was oxygenated even tho wasn't completely down. and now with MRI the doc told me that everything is normal but he cannot explain to me why the erection is not coming. I just heard by someone that Johns Hopkins hospital in Baltimore has the best urology.. what you guys think. please please give me any info about this problem and Thank you so much in advance.
