Hi Mary here,

While doing some internet checking, I found out that the Cleveland Clinic has a service called MyChart.

One can access MyChart easily and can keep updated test results, appointments, medications and other important medical information, once it's released by the doctor/hospital.

It also says it has links to information applicable to patients.

Looks very interesting and forward thinking, IMO.

Maybe we should all request that our various hospitals/doctors use it......

BTW, I have no interest or participation in MyChart, just thought it sounds wonderful.

Check it out, see what you think......

Hi. I use Mychart at Cleveland Clinic. It is OK but not as good as they advertise yet.
My appointments are viewable. Many of my test results are not viewable.
It may be a work in progress..
I also get my BlueCross statements online from my insurance provider.
Gleason (3+4) 7, PSA 5 in November 2011
cryoablation in January 2011.

I also use mychart. As Robert said there is information available, such as upcoming appointments, the list of medications that you are taking (which you provide), and certain tests.   There is a lot more they could do with the site as far as information you would like to have. Probably forthcoming. However, it will never replace the manila folder and file drawer.  An interesting side note: My GP in Erie had prescribed a new med for me. One week later I had an appointment at the Cleveland Clinic.  During the pre-appointment interview the nurse, when reviewing my medications, inquired if I was still taking drug XXX? I asked how she new about that, as it had just been prescribed?  I was told it was a "new" system they had just subscribed to, and it is almost a real time update.   Simply amazing....

I too find My Chart as a useful tool. The doctor has to release the tests, so sometimes, the test don't show up. I have had to bug PA to release them.

I keep my own records in an Excel file with tabs for the various calculations, plots, and results. (I am a data freak.)
It was my leak plot that finally convinced me to have the sling surgery.

It's a bit disappointing to find that it's not up to snuff.

As you say, it could be a work in progress.

We've had problems getting information/printed data from Willies' doctors.

Most don't even send reasonable information to our GP.

What we do have, we have in a file also.

Medical Records wants a kings ransom for a copy of his medical records.

MyChart seems like an almost perfect way, *if* the notes were released.

Ah well, perfection is hard to find. lol

Interesting comment on medical records. In my town, I go to medical records after the PSA test to get a copy. No charge. In fact, I thought legally they have to give you a copy. It is your data.

Could be that they are trying to charge you a copying charge, but even that may not be legal. I think I would ask around a little.
