Four days ago I began to achieve full erections since my Robotic last October. I celebrated by chasing my wife down and showing her my new friend. Ahhhh...it was a sight to behold! And I was really beginning to get concerned that Woody has seen his last days.

Here's my question: After a couple of "Show and Tell" sessions, I began to feel a sensation as if my bladder was full - somewhat discomforting. It lasted through the night. Not painful...just a dull soreness. I woke up this morning without discomfort. After another "session", I began to feel it again.

Any help is appreciated!

I can't personally address the pain and discomfort issue, but I wanted to say CONGRATULATIONS on the return of your friend Woody.

My surgery was in Sept 2009 and I am really seeing improvement that is soooo close to being useable.

You seem really ahead of the curve on recovery. Again congratulations and ENJOY.

Alegar,

I have discomfort as well, but it's not quite the same. After the "event", I have a feeling like something is pulling on my bladder. Not pleasant, but not terrible either.

This is different from what I used to feel. Before, when I got past about 95% full length, there was sharp pain in the woody itself. Talk about mixed blessing.

Thanks, fellas!

Yeah, your description is better: like something pulling on my bladder. I haven't had the pain in my penis, however. I notice that the pain/discomfort goes away after several hours.

First of all, Call your doctor and ask. He can't treat you if he doesn't know what is going on.

If I had to make a non-MD guess (at this point you are stupid if you read any further) I would suspect that you are still healing from major surgery and your pains are related to that
Age at diagnosis 66, PSA 5.5
Biopsy 12/08 12 cores, 8 positive
Gleason 3+4=7
CAT scan, Bone scan 1/09 both negative.

Robotic surgery 03/03/09 Catheter Out 03/08/09
Pathology: Lymph nodes & Seminal vesicles negative
Margins positive, Capsular penetration extensive Gleason 4+3=7
6 weeks: 1 pad/day, 1 pad/night -- mostly dry at night.
10 weeks: no pad at night -- slight leakage day/1 pad.
3 mo. PSA 0.0 - now light pads
6 mo. PSA 0.00 -- 1 light pad/day
9 mo. PSA 0.00 -- 1 light pad/day ED remains
12 mo. PSA 0.00 -- still one light pad and ED
16 mo PSA 0.00 -- light pad just for security, ED still an issue

Please consider starting a kegel exercise program with the Dr's approval. I am 6 yr's from surgery and still do about 100 3/days a week.  Noticeable results can take at least 8 weeks to show.  Those muscles are deep and wet.  They take a long time to heal. Kegels are good for both bowel control and erections.

*Age 60 when presented to GP on 3 Aug. 2004 with elevated PSA of 13.8.
*Referred to Urologist. Biopsy and bone scan in Oct 04.
*Pathology report in Nov 04. Initial Results are T2cNoMo carcinoma of prostate gland.
*Had a RPP on 14 Feb 2005. Boy talk about irony look at that date again.
*Dr. called 3 days after surgery. I want you both in my office tomorrow morning, we must talk now.
*"I wish to apologize because I misdiagnosed your condition. Biopsy of your organ says Staging is T3bNoMo. Please accept my apology."
*At that moment I fell in love with my Dr. and have never changed my mind.
*Followup radiation of the prostate bed started early June 05 and ran 42 sessions.
*All PSA checkups to date, 5 1/2 yrs, are undetectable.
