Hello All. I'm six months post op and have had no success whatsoever with the pills. But Trimix works when I get the dosage just right (first time using sent me to ER with priapism). So, my questions are how long till the Trimix goes bad, and are there any side effects to using it anyway? In other words, does bad simply mean that it doesn't work?

Also, while I know, obviously, that everyone is different, but is there any average or typical recovery period for spontaneous erections? It's been six months and I haven't had one, not even in my sleep. I'm 40 and never ever had a problem before surgery.

Thanks for your help.

Father of Two, Everyone is different for sure. Most Drs say that at a 2 years what you have is what you will have. I have actually made progress after the 2 year mark. Many have said the injections promoted the healing of the system for erections. (certainly hope that is the case for you) I think it is wise that you started injections at 6 months. I had to fight with my Uro to get started at the 1 year mark.

Your a young guy and that should help with your recovery. Best of luck with your recovery. There are several threads on injections that I think you will find helpful.

I notice your question didn't get answered, sorry turn I personally have used Trimix for a year with no problems, and it was still strong at the end. I figure as long as it is kept refrigerated, isn't cloudy or of altered appearance, I would use it. Not saying you can or should, just relaying my experience. Using Trimix a couple times a week and varying the injection site from left to right and moving around a little bit will go a long way to keep from having injection side effects.

I am 45 no problems prior to RRP no real responce post op to oral meds. started trimix at 6 months same as you. and am playing with dose I had gotten up to .48 for great effect no with the plump method it hurts more for the injection itself but i used .18 last night with very good effects! I also am starting to see on nights that I take oral meds I have slight nocternal erections, maybe about 20-30% of fullness. and that with manual stimulation can get nearly 100% but only with manual stimulation. for sex must use the trimix still. I would recomend keep trying the trimix and use the pump daily It will get better with time and with the use of the trimix and pump to strengthen things down there!
age 44 when diagnosed 45 now
RRP 9-28-10
gleason 3+3
pathology report clear
11-1-10 PSA 0.02
3 month 0.00
6 month 0.00
12-1-10 noctural erections, not very strong maybe 20% none prior to Osbon pump use
3-30-11 Trimix 1st injection works GREAT! and more nocturnals and even some spontanious erections plus responding a little bit now to oral meds!!! The trimix really started things going!
