Mary here,

I found this article quite informative and reasonably balanced in regards to HIFU.

Sorry, I cannot do 'links' but if you google it, the article is the top choice.

Some of the other blogs on Cheerful Oncologist may also be of interest also.

Enjoy

Thanks Postop for linking the NY Times article.

The Cheerful Oncologists' article is another 'take' based on this NYT article.

Now, if only I could link that one, someday I'll have to take a lesson on linking.

Thanks again.

Mary

You do it by selecting and copying the address from the top of your web browser, and pasting it between {url} and {/url}, like this:

{url}address{/url}

except that you use the "[" key instead of "{" and "]" instead of "}" (It won't display it when I do this message with the bracket keys).

Also, if you do Post Reply rather then the Quick Reply you'll see a blue glove icon with a link. Pick on that enter the address and it will format it for you.

There are so many reliable treatments that are covered by insurance and medicare, why do some people feel compelled to pursue treatments that are proven to be less efective and they have to pay full price for the privilege of being under treated??

Does HIFU have a future? I don't know....does anyone? I certainly didn't consider it when i read the studues by JHS, Critz, PSG, and others. They all pointed me to either surgery or radiation. They did not point me to HIFU,.
