Hi,

This is my first post. I had Da Vinci surgery in March and pathology report showed positive margins and ECE. 2 PSA readings since surgery which were both detectable-.18 and .31. Uro surgeon and radiation oncologist (who I met with Friday) both recommend 6 month HT starting now and RP  in 2 months. I' m on board with that, but wanted to get another perspective, as there seems to be some variation in looking at this forum as to how these treatments are done. Would be interested in names of both radiation oncologists and medical oncologists in Dallas that anyone has experience with. Am also setting up an appointment with UT Southwestern and would be interested in anyone's experience with them. You can also email privately if you are not comfortable with posting.

Thanks so much

Keith n Dallas

PSA 3.9 before biopsy, risen from 2.3 2 yrs earlier
DX 2/7/11-Gleason 6, 6/12 cores positive

Catheter in for 4 1/2 weeks due to bladder healing problems
Pathology report Gleason 7 (3+4) Positive margin, EPE, no seminal, no lymph
PSA .18 on 5/9/11, .31 on 6/20
Recommended short-term HT with RP 2 months later

Visit with Dr. Pistenmaa there at UT. He was my radiation oncologist and I was happy with him.

If I lived in Texas, I'd be heading to Houston and MD Anderson.

Skeeter...no offense here....BUT....DFW has some of the top ranked cancer centers in the world. UT Southwestern, Baylor, USMC just to name a few. Houston is good...not knocking them...but there are just as qualified centers locally without having to make a trip there. The level of treatment here in DFW will be hard to beat.

Hey Steve...yeah I am doing okay...got some other medical issues I am going through - unrelated to PCa, so I haven't been around much. I will pop in from time to time to check up on ya...gotta keep your mod duties in check ya know...jk
