thanks, mika.

when i get the chances to do little things like this (and in reality, it is just a small thing), i feel like i am doing it for all of us that fight the PC fight. we have to grab the opportunity to preach the word when given the chance. since my dx, i have had the chance to talk to quite a few men, one to one, about PC and PSA testing, I only help some of them have followed through. Several of my business friends have since had their very first PSA tests, one was 66 years old and just didn't believe in doctors and tests. His base line came back at <1.0. not bad for his age.

we still need to hook up for that lunch soon, we should compare schedules again, and just set another date. i am ok with the place we decided before.

my best to you to on your side of the mountains.

Congratulations, David!

They could not have picked a better person. You continue to help us with the cause.

I only have one important question... Did they let you choose your own makeup?

All the best,

Barry

thanks, barry, was happy to see your other post and that you are doing well.

no makeup was needed, but my wife made me buy a new shirt and wear good shoes, even though the filming was mostly from the waist up.

am curious to see how much "editing" the filmmaker ends up doing of my dialoge, hope he doesn't cut all the PC plugs out of it.

D:  good to hear that they needed a spokesman, and you stepped up to the plate!  i expect you did the task in your eloquent and caring fashion...obviously, many of us are interested in the result.

keep up the good work!

At PT today, the head of the program told me that I will be given a DVD of the finished project when it's completed.

David, how nice that you will be attending the formal presentation with your son!  It appears to me that your MOST important message to both men and women is to have PSA testing.  Sometimes it is the woman in a man's life that makes the suggestion to get the tests.  I know one couple that schedule thair Pap Smear/Mammogram and PSA testing the same week, and then go out to celebrate the good results (which they have been).

I hope you have been feeling well.  Ron is still going in for those pain procedures.  The 4th one is August 16.  We still pray for a miracle.  Take care!

Best wishes,

Aimzee

David.  You are correct in what you said about educating men about this disease and I thank you for that effort.  We survivors should tell our brothers about this disease and help them deal with it.  When I had a similar opportunity at Duke to talk with MSNBC about it I jumped at the chance.  At my previous job I did several articles in the local paper and had several men call me and I had the opportunity to talk with them to encourage them to seek out treatment for themselves.  Even after I retired from the city, one of my councilmen called me and I referred him to my Dr. who treated him and he is mpw on his way to recovery with his journey with this disease.

Take care brother and we still need to do lunch.

Mika
