First, I realize how blessed and lucky I am.  Seriously, I do.  I will be 55 yo this week.  Gleason score was (3+3 = 6).  I had the Da Vinci Radical Prost. on 7-21-11 by Dr Dov Kadmon at Memorial Hosp in Houston, Texas.  I only had slight pain for a day or two.  I was discharged on 7-23-11.  Have not taken any pain meds since leaving the hospital.  Had catheter removed one week post op. (7-29-11) Wore an adult diaper that day and night.  Hated the sight of it.

the next day i went without the diaper to see how "continent" i was or was not.   Minor leakage throughout the day.  Used one of my wife's pads. ( the very thin ones that stick inside your underwear). That worked great.  ( Did not wear another diaper-ever ).  Each day since, i have had less and less uncontrolled leakage. Today, 12 days Post Op,  I have worn regular underwear with no pad whatsoever.  No leakage,  No problem.  I pee when i want to just like normal.  I am sure if i cough or sneeze there will be some leakage.

It will be a few weeks waiting for the Path report.  of course a bit nervous.  For the most part i feel almost completely normal now except for the ED.  In terms of ED,  it is very interesting.   I feel life there but not much happens which i fully expect.  I am surprised that all sensations are completely normal though. I can feel stimulation.  I did not think that i would.

I am just beginning this journey.... but hopefully have the hard part behind me.

I intend on going back to work in another 6 days.

God bless all of you and good luck.

nick

Welcome Nick and best wishes on the Path Rpt. Wishing you dryer/cooler weather in Htown. I was there in July for a month.

Hi Nick, welcome to this forum. Good to see you are doing so well 12 days out and your post op results are close to mine. I can tell you each day will be better than the day before. smilewinkgrin   I thought the issue of staying dry would be harder than it was, but the ED is another story shakehead    I have the same feelings down there and can feel stimulation and life but it just will not come to attention for now.

Good luck and keep us informed as you progress.
