I had to push my Uro every step of the way for ED all he wanted to talk about was implant as early as the 6 month checkup.
Jeff your URO doesn't make hardly anything in fees for working out ED issues compared to the surgery cost for an implant. I have been to mine 3 times now for ED treatments and therapy in the last 3 weeks and I have had no office co pays. He told me the ED treatments are all part of his overall PCa surgery and followup costs. Since most insurance will not cover the implant surgery the URO's do not have to take the lower insurance payoffs for this expensive ED solution and make a lot more than they probably did doing the RALP surgery.
When I first met with my URO about surgery and expectations about continence and ED and his success on both, he told me statistics do not mean a thing as every man and his PCa are different. He told me his goal is to restore continence and potency to acceptable standards in all of his PCa patients and that is what he would work on for me. Sold me on him!
