Went in for my 3rd (17 month) checkup post-SRT and received another 0.01... Looking like we have snuffed those stubborn remaining cells of pesky PCa. Doc has now switched me to an annual monitoring schedule.
I am very happy with the results and the feeling that I have really become a confident member of the zero club and look forwards to many more years staying in it.
Overall, side effects have been minimal and very acceptable when weighed against the the situation when diagnosed with BCR. All the bowel issues (excess gas/mucus/minor bleeding) have disappeared... Did not increase any ED issues... Stress incontinence has probably increased slightly... maybe 25%... during heavy/strenuous activity... when gardening or mountain trail hiking... but then it has been awhile since I have done routine kegal exercises... I currently just wear a pouch during those activities. And will get back to the kegals and see what happens... Not a serious issue for me and my lifestyle at this time.
My energy levels are fully returned and even increased from those post RRP... I really feel I am finally back to my activity and enjoyment level that i had before PCa diagnosis 5 or so years ago... I am actively planning and performing many mountain trail hiking and lake fishing trips... One each week...
So, step up to the bar and I will buy you all your favorite beverage... so we can toast our PCa brothers... Those still fighting this beast, those that have beat the beast into submission, and those that may have passed but who gave the good fight.
God Bless All!
