I hope this makes some sense, I'm not real good at wording these things so good luck, I did try hard.
I've been dropping in for help and then having set backs with another problem so my apologies. Long story short, I'm having what seems to be a bad case of sciatica in my left hip/buttock and leg. I should get the MRI results tomorrow, Monday 12-19-2011, then I can decide on what I need to do there and know it won't interfere if I opt for external radiation on the prostate.
Here is my last post (I think) but since that I had the CAT scan and Bone scan, it appears the cancer is still confined to the prostate. Recommended treatment, prostate removal or the external radiation. Internal seed implants not recommended due to the gleason score of 7.

Had my Uro Dr. follow up on my bone and CT scans, they were clear so he said it looks like the cancer is confined to the prostate. Said 15% of the cores (4) on the right side were positive with a Gleason of 7, I asked if it was 4,3 or 3,4. He said while it was a good question it's the old way and they don't really go by that, the fact that it's a 7 or more and that my PSA has doubled over the last 2 years suggest is active or aggressive in nature.
Now it's the V.A. here in Phoenix so he recommended removal by robotic, done in Palo Alto Ca. or seed implant done here at a non V.A. facility or colbalt treatment also done here at a non V.A. facility. So far I told him no treatment so he said if I change my mind to call otherwise come back in 3 months with a new PSA blood drawl and for a DRE to see if any change.
I asked about incontinence and he said that runs in the 2 or 3% range, for E.D. all he wouod say if there is any trouble now it would be worse. Well it still works but being single not sure how well but that is unacceptable to me. At 66 I have enough pain with othe joints that I have no desire to to entend it and then feel like less man on top of it all. At least jr works though not as well as I would like, LOL.
So what I will do down the road I don't know but for now it will just remain the same.
I would like to thank all here for the support and information, it has helped me to make an easy decision which is pretty well where I figured this would go for me.
My Best to all of you,

So if I do anything it would probably be the external radiation, for those in the know how are most doing with it??? I know it's an individual thing but it's all we have to go by. Most interested in the incontinence and E.D. thing.
Thanks again for any info,
They have me on time release morphine and hydrocodone for the sciatica but that may change after the MRI results.
