We have a few guys that did very well controlling their weight with rigorous workouts and dietary control. They pretty much switched to a Vegan or vegetarian diet and have maintained weight and a couple even lost weight.
The tip of the day from me on this subject is eat right and get exercise. If you do what you normally did before going on HT you will likely gain weight. But if you step it up you can have desirable results...
I am one of the lucky ones because I came out of the two year + HT experience at about
the same weight I began. They key for me was to maintain, to the extent possible, the same strength training at my local gym that I have been doing for years, with cycling of 10-20 miles a couple of times a week on the road. Also, I kept pretty much intact my pre-HT diet.
Perhaps I was lucky in that I had been doing weight traning and aerobic training for many years prior to being diagnosed with PCa. But the fact of the matter for me HT was hardly a blip on the screen and did not impact my QOL more than about
Whether the HT does any good in the long run is another story. Only time will tell.
