Welcome to our little corner of the world, if you or a loved one has prostate cancer - this is where you want to be. Now take a breath, dont freak out, - yeah easy to say - there are a lot of proven treatments available and more on the way.
Be sure to file for Veterans Disability.
You hubbys conditions sounds close to mine. I go to the VA Hospital in Washington DC and have been very impressed. One of the great things about
the VA is the integrated medical approach where all your doctors can access your computerized medical records. I suggest giving the radiation Oncologist at the VA a try.
Also go back to the VA Oncologist -and ask why. I've found my medical team is very approachable. I write down all my questions and hand the medical team a copy of that, than I go over my questions one by one.
Can anyone give us any indication of what to expect? -You two will beat this, life really does not have to change that much for you
How drastically is our lifestyle going to change? - I go to the VA once a month for my Zometa, every 3 months I get Eligard.
You two are doing all the right get started things - be calm ,
Yes would start with Cassodex, and than Eligard , Zometa -- soon as can for bones.
My email is in my profile, feel free to email me.
