open RP, and at 2 months, I was probably 90% back to 'normal'. I don't see why travel at that time would present any kind of problems for him. Several of the guys flew in and back for surgery, just 3 or 4 days after. At 2 months, that shouldn't be an issue, except not to lug that heavy luggage.
I say go ahead and plan for it, it will do you and him a world of good to get away from the scene of the crime, so to speak. If concerned, ask the surgeon.
