What a wonderful example you are of a loving companion, even when your heart is breaking.

We all stand with you. I can only hope the remaining time you have together can be spent saying the things you want to say, remembering the good times, and helping each other through these difficult times.

Thanks so much for sharing with us.

In an above post goodlife said "... I can only hope the remaining time you have together can be spent saying the things you want to say ... "

That is oh, so true. I lost my own dear wife last year to heart trouble, and she went very quickly and unexpectedly. Because of that, I never got to say goodbye to her in the way I would have wanted to, to thank her for being such a wonderful wife and mother, to thank her for the oh so many other wonderful things we had together in our lives. I so regret that I never got the chance to say those things to her.

When I was younger I never understood it when people would say "but I never got a chance to say goodbye." "Does it matter that much?," I would ask myself.

Yes, yes, it does.

If your husband's time is truly short, I do urge you to "say the things you want to say," now, while you still can, if you haven't done so already. Later on you will be so happy you did.

Believe me, I know.

81GyGuy,

Well said! Although I fully intend/hope to die of something beside PCa, since my cancer diagnosis, I have tried to not put off enjoying life and expressing appreciation to my wife and other loved ones. We should all try to live like that.

c.c., again, our hearts are with you.

I am so sorry about what you're going through.  I hope there is at least some comfort in knowing that you have so many people that care about you.

Stay strong, and remember you're not alone

Thank you all very much :) for all the beautiful words:)
I just wanted to say that last week my husband and I cuddled on the couch and watched the Christmas story after wards we talked about everything we could think of and I let him know what an amazing man he is and that he is a wonderful husband and we talked about memories things we wish we had said along time ago when it was all said and done he looked at me and said "there are no words to describe what kind of wife you have been you have stood by me through the worst time of my life and laughed at me in the best parts I cherish you today just like I did when we got married .I don't want you to follow me to where i am going for many years to come but when you do I want you to know I will be there with open arms no matter what you do after I have gone no matter what man you marry ( I started crying at this point I couldnt hold it any longer ) I said I will never marry again he took my hand and put his arm around me and said baby girl I want you to when you are ready I do not want you to be alone I will rest better knowing that one day you will have someone to take care of you like you have done for me do not be sad for me I will not know the difference when this is over only you and our loved ones will feel the pain I will be up there partying like the ROCK STAR I am . I smiled and cried more you see he has always been my rock star and has always made a face when I call him that but I do it any way so calling him self that touched my heart and He will forever be my ROCKSTAR:) We have family here helping out and more coming for the Holidays we are well staffed so to speak lol

I just want to wish you all a very MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR
I will prolly not be on here til after everything is done
I pray for you all to have lots of love and joy this Christmas
your friend
