Update: The Dr chose not to remove the cath or his staples. Seems he has gotten an infection in the lower abdomen staples. More antibiotics. The ride to Memphis (2 hrs) was a killer for him. We try again next Tues.
Tim is in alot of pain and the hydro's are not working, even at 2 every 4 hours.
The pain is mainly from the infected areas in the staples and the cath. The area of infection is in the crease of the stomack and groin area.
Question: Is the leaking from the infected areas a good thing? There is no foul smell but the area is red, sorta a light brown color fluid. Should we be cleaning it with hydrogen or an antibiotic cream?
I will be calling the dr tmw for both concerns but wanted to hear from those that have went through it themselves.
He is on Sulfa and Amox for the infection.
Thanks for any help.
