Just a few thoughts. My previous apology thread was indeed an attempt to lighten the mood. We do need to laugh at ourselves if we are to survive. The reaction was mixed and so be it.
But I have been thinking more about HW of late (hard not to), especially since my last post, and I am quite serious in this post.
Okay, some of the threads do get heated, but frankly that adds spice to this Forum. It would be a much duller place without some of the brouhahahaha. Frankly, for me it is a bit of an escape from that big elephant in the room that we all share. For some, like myself, the elephant has gotten bigger. For others, the elephant has shrunk to a gnat, but with the capability of morphing back into that huge pacyderm. In other words, it hasn't gone away totally. So, to a degree, HW is an escape from the daily grind.
So, yes, HW is indeed an escape. For those who are complaining about the threads, you do understand that if you stop posting on a thread, it will go away. Some of you complain, but then you post (perhaps out of morbid curiosity?).
All that being said, there is indeed a point where we end up discouraging new members, and that is the opposite of what we want. That point was made by others, and it is an excellent point. We have reached that threshhold, as others are saying that if they saw these threads at the time they first looked at HW they would not be here today.
So, HW is an escape, but it is PRIMARILY a lifeline. I come here for support and for a great deal of information. I appreciate the moral support when I mention that my PSA is rising and when I mention that I am going to start HT. But I GREATLY appreciate reading about others' experiences with PC in general and also getting important questions answered. I would hate to lose that and I would not want to deprive others of the opportunity to see the good that HW provides.
I'll end my musings here. It's just a few thoughts I felt like expressing.
