Casper, is the Eligard less harsh as far as the side effects go? This Lupron has me in severe pain and you PSaLevel is so low. I've never had any radiation as the small mets seemed to have gone away of their own accord.
Was your 12 core biopsy done in one go? Mine was and it is the pain level I use as "The most painful experience" #10on the self reported pain scale. How's your mental state? I am convinced that my super positive attitude is what keeps me going strong. I'll have to admit that the A/Ds, Cymbalta and Abilify help to keep me on the sunny side of life. those and my incredibly loving warrior wife that not only deals with me but her own full disabilities as well. I think that miracles are either earned or self made . . . you seem to be making a few of them yourself. Stay in touch!
Quincy...I dont think the side effects are any different...theyre both Luprolide drugs...only difference is the Eligard is every 6 months and its in the stomach. SEs seem to be the same.
My biopsy was done at one time and quite painless...first one made me flinch a little only because I was anticipating it....the rest were easy. My mental state....I can only say Im more emotional at times...my memory is terrible now and I have lack of concentration at times. I have gained weight but am now on aa strict diet and started walking and working out 5 days a week...lost 8 pounds in 10 days. I actually feel fine at this time....although my PSA went up from .16 to a .96....Dr. told me to wait because it could have been a bounce....so I check again next month. I am a little anemic from my last lab work but not bad....Doc told me to eat lots of spinach so Im feeling like Popeye right now....about a can a day.
