The wait should not make a difference. My personality is such that I wanted it over and done with ASAP. I got my diagnosis on Jan. 24th of 2012 and was on the table Feb. 10, 2012. The waiting game is not one of my strong suits. Can you can stand the wait is the question you need to ask yourself. For me the battle between the ears before every PSA test is the hardest part of this whole journey. Medically, 3 weeks probably won't change a thing. Ask your doctor his honest opinion and do whatever feels right.
I have no problem telling anyone. Honestly, I'm in better shape now than I was before surgery. I eat better, I exercise more, and I don't let little things bother me as much. I actually tell people that my surgery made me physically stronger: Before surgery when I got an erection I could barely bend it --now I can tie it in a knot .
