My question on the Zero Club is whether it is only possible after removal of the prostate.

I have not had any surgery, just ADT since March 28 and have made good progress from 3.68 to 0.9, to 0.4 and most recently 0.2. Testosterone is 20 when measured at Quest and <3 with Labcorp. Only reason for the lab switch was travel to spoil grand kids.

I know other organs, adrenal if I recall, produce a small amount testosterone too. So zero not possible there without 2 different treatments.

Fortunately side effects have been minimal with hot flashes just a friendly reminder Lupron is still doing its job.

I have my next appointment at UF & Shands on August 7 and was going to ask my medical oncologist what is the baseline we are looking for to nadir out, and also how much time to get there, though I know there is no such thing as a typical PCa patient, with everyone on his own journey.

My understanding is that the PSA declines quicker than the bone tumors shrink and to not expect too much progress on my first quarterly bone scan later this month, more likely takes about a year.

Just looking to tap in on the experiences of those of you who traveled this road before me.
Dx @ age 64 Feb 2013 PSA 3.68 (6 mo doubling) Gleason 9 (4+5)

T1CN0M1B a/k/a D2 Adenocarcinoma w. 7 of 12 cores worst ones 70% right perineural Invasion PNI

oligometastatic 5 tumors 1 right sacroiliac, 2 thoracic vertebral bodies (spine), 2 right posterior ribs

1st Lupron 4 month 3-28-2013.
PSA 07-08-13 =0.2 w free PSA 0.1, T=20

UF & Shands treating w curative intent, not just palliative.

I'll endorse your application for zero club - especially if you're buying the beer.

That's a good drop in PSA.

Here's to hoping the ADT keeps working for a long time. After all some one has to spoil the grand kids.

All the best,
Andrew

You do not have to have the prostate removed to join in the activity of the “Zero Club”.
I was welcomed in after my 3rd PSA of being un-detectable.
However, I was asked to sit in the back of the room and not at the bar. Now that there are more of us RAD, & H/T guys here I believe we can muscle our way to the bar. We will be nice and let the other guys sit close to the bathroom. :)

I forgot about radiation without removal of the prostate.

I should have stated my question as without radiation or surgery, is Zero club possible, with just ADT.

I am pleased with the 3 months of progress but just trying to gauge where the theoretical bottom out score is without RAD, seeds, etc.

T1c-
generally, zero club / zero club membership is for undetectable PSA <0.10 - there is no such thing as an absolute zero -
smithmeek.com/zeroclub.jpg

-but I found it to be limiting since there are those fighting prostate cancer, who cannot reach undetectable but go for the low numbers while beating PCa - so I came up with the "go for the low" club
smithmeek.com/goforthelowclub.jpg
- it ain't a zero but it pretty darn close - and worthy of praise -
-congrats T1c !!

Thanks, Andrew, Bert and Bronson.

Looks like I have been spoiling 2 of my grand kids in Andrew's home turf of San Jose, but we are leaving early next week.
