I found a new members first comment on a vintage thread about
aches and pains on Lupron. I thought I'd give him hiso wn thead so folks can say hello..
In that other thread, ChuckAZ said...
I'm new to this thread. Started 2yr HT in August 2012 and completed 39 proton pencil beam treatments at M.D. Anderson on 15 March 2013. My joints ache-especially fingers. I have to type a lot and my fingers "click" the next day. In just the past week my right hip got in on the act as well as my left big toe this morning. Remaining inactive for more than 30-45 minutes makes getting up a chore. Really stiff for a few minutes. I feel like the "Tin Man" in the Wizard of Oz. Staying active with long bike rides daily and the gym 4 days a week for resistance training. Warning: If you are just starting HT (I'm on Lupron) get to exercising. You'll lose less muscle mass. Muscle mass loss will sneak up on you and I'm convinced that gaining it back is a lot harder than never having lost it in the first place. I learned the hard way.
Like others, I'm not shy about napping but this join pain is really getting me down. The large muscle comprising my right buttock got in on the act with a lot of pain late last week. While I'm trying to eat right and act right the discomfort is lessened by reading the open and honest posts on this site. We are not alone. We will never give up.
