My last Lupron shot was April, 2012...15 months ago. At my last uro visit, t levels were over 400. I'm still experiencing hot flashes. (Last one was 2 minutes ago). Uro has no explanation. Family doc did a thyroid function test which was normal.

I guess I'm officially weird, but I could sure do without these dang things. I'm also hot almost all the time. It seems that my comfort room temp is in low to mid 60's. At 72 F, I'll probably be sweating. I need to move to Alaska in the summers.

Was wondering if anyone else has experienced this after HT.

Hello Kbota... how's that tractor running?

I'm also off of Lurpron now, but only a few months.

I really think the weather has lots to do with the hot flashes. Living in the North West where the weather is cooler I really don't experience many hot flashes.  When I do it's usually for a very short period of time. Summers here are in the low to mid 70's.

But when I was at the GFMPH in La. I did experience more intense hot flashes lasting for a minute or two.

So, you don't have to move all the way to Alaska, Washington is far enough turn .

Hey Guys,
Looks like all you young men are doing well and I'm happy for you! I wish that I was off lupron but I've got 1 more shot to go. After being on this stuff for 3 years I'm not sure how I'm going to react..It will be interesting to see what the "new normal" is like..I can live with minor hot flashes during the day, but at night my sheets are soaked regardless of the A/C setting..Oh well, sorry I couldn't help.

Hot Flashes .....

I had them very briefly the first time I was given a Lupron injection over 2-years ago. However ..... on Xtandi, for at least the first 3+ weeks, I was getting short-lived hot flashes - at least 5 or 6 a day ... then, my pillowcase was damp every morning.

So, it seems that the Xtandi has bothered me much more than the Lupron. Still know how you feel.

Right now, I don't know what to think - the hot flashes are very minimal and no damp pillow cases during week 4 and 5 of Xtandi.

Summary .... nothing makes sense!

Initial Dx of PCa in 2003/2004
Radiation (5x5wks) & Brachytherapy (96 seeds) in 2004
Low PSA for 6-years
Casodex first - then Lupron from mid-2011 to current
Zytiga from January 2012 (5-months) - PSA increase
Prednisone from early 2012 & Xgeva from mid 2012
Taxotere from August 2012 (30-weeks) - PSA from 54+ to 12+
No chemo (8-weeks) - PSA from 12+ to over 23
Xtandi start - late June 2013 ......
