Well, it's official. We're grand parents. Our son and wife had their first born early this morning. She's pink, perfect, and absolutely beautiful. We are so excited to have a little one around again. Especially one we can love, spoil, and send home. Can't wait to get started :-)

Paul and Vickie,

Congratulations; and I know you guys are all so very happy!!

Our first of four, was a girl (two girls and two boys). There's just nothing like being grandparents.

cmetalman; yes, nothing sweeter then being called grandpa! Our oldest will be 16 Feb. 21. When she was little, she used to say: Grandpa can do ANYTHING! We love all our grand-children!

Enjoy your grandchild.

Congratulations. We have nine treasures and I relish every moment with them and all the moments I think about them.

My take is that you have started your fourth life, and in my experience will be very rewarding. My philosophy is that my first life was all about me, my second life was all about my wife, my third life was all about our children, and my fourth life is all about our grandchildren. Of course that period when you are empty nesters and before grandchildren reverts back to focusing on spouse and self to make up for lost time.

Enjoy and make sure you show her and the future additions how life should be lived.

We have seven, and they are the joy of my life. I had a very wonderful relationship with my paternal grandfather (unfortunately, my maternal grandfather died before I was born). It's my goal in my remaining years to have that same kind of special relationship with my own grandchildren.

Grandparents can be an extremely important person in these young persons' lives, and I can see that you are destined to be that kind of grandparent. Congratulations.

Congratulations, let the spoiling begin!

I have an 18 year old grandson who moved in with us 1 year ago. Sometimes I wish he was still little so we can send him home with his parents but circumstances are different these days and we can't.

Enjoy them while they are young!

Congratulations Swim! I know you have been eagerly awaiting this moment. Cherish it forever.

We only have 2 grand kids, youngest is 9. Youngest son getting married in October, so we are hoping in a couple of years or so, might get to experience that joy again with additional grand kids. We can only hope. My wife can't stand not having any babies around to coddle and spoil.

Congratulations on becoming grandparents. You know what they say: "grand kids are so great we should have had them first". I have 12 grand children and one more is on the way.

Congratulations, Swim.. Got 6 myself, fertile bunch of kids. Our oldest is 14 and since kindergarten and before has slept over on Friday nights. I get up with him on Saturdays and make breakfast, always his choice, and he always makes his bed and cleans up his room.

A few weeks ago he was sitting there after dinner and out of nowhere said, "I love this house." When I asked him why he said that he has always been happy here with never a bad moment. His parents split when he was 5. Kinda broke my heart. Thinking of leaving this place to him in a beneficiary deed.

THe other g-kids stay over from time to time and I'm very close with all of them. My 7 yo granddaughter still wants me to rock her like a baby in the rocking chair. She just cuddles and is very quiet.

Had everyone over for Christmas dinner, 16 in all, and loved every minute of it. After they left...it was almost too quiet. Enjoy them, Swim... especially when they're little.
