My radiation cystitis showed up first about
17/18 months after RT was completed. It goes away eventually (a couple of weeks), then comes back without warning.
In my case it seems to start after a problematic bowel movement.
They will probably want to do a cystoscope, which involves a thin camera tube run up the urethra so they can look at the urethra and bladder neck.
The first time was quite concerning, but I've gotten used to it.
You'll want to review this with your uro, as they need to be involved.
