Got up in the middle of the night (not at all unusual with HT).
Went and got a drink of water. Shut off all the lights and headed back to the bedroom, as I've literally done HUNDREDS of times before. Well, I thought I was heading in the exact right direction, but my shoulder hit the right side of the door opening. I moved back a bit (rebound) and somehow my left toe got bent under my foot. Freaky...and hideously painful all night. I have already had a broken toe, and this sure feels like it. My doctor got me in today (one of his partners). They took an x-ray and it appears to be negative (will be read by the radiation department also -- but clearly no major break and probably no break at all).
So, I'm limping around. Today was my off-campus day.
Tomorrow and Friday will be a major challenge. Spring break next week, thank goodness. Surprisingly, we made no vacation plans. THANK GOODNESS!
Right now the toes is VERY swollen and all kinds of colors in the joint.
Assuming this is a bad sprain, anybody know how long they last? I have seen estimates of 5 days to 5-6 weeks. I suspect it will be weeks.
Hopefully I'll be fine for our Florida trip in mid-May
Time for some ice... and such is life!!!
