I am still looking for you, my friend.  It's been so long since we have seen each other in person, and even longer since I have seen you here at HW.

Don't know if you are just taking a long sabbatical from HW, or else something has happened in your life, or perhaps you are off on another long far away adventure.

Miss having lunch with you.  Every time I pass that Mexican place on the Powdersville Road, I think of you.

If you see this, please contact me by e-mail or phone if you still have my number, would love to hook up with you.

Just hope and pray you are doing well.

David

David,

I do see that he was last here at the end of March.

Did you try his email on his profile?

Great to see you trying to hook up with your friend.

Hey Purg,

I'm glad to see you still up and running. Me too. Just older but no new cancer problems.

Hoping you are well and happy.

Nice to see you, Jim. Haven't seen your name pop up in recent times. Glad your cancer issues are still in check. You can't help the aging part, me neither, lol.

My best to you,

David

Hi David,
You are an amazing example…Thank you for your words to me over the many years.

Pete and I are hanging in….Pete had the exenteration surgery March 7. The doctors couldn't believe how well he is doing…They expected 4 month recuperation, and at 2 months he is doing immensely well. AND, I am now the, Stomanator! I change both of the ostomies in a few minutes. I have to say, to anyone ever facing this…Don't be afraid. There are many worse things than an ostomy, or two.
David, I hope you are feeling better. The spring is here…a new beginning for sure. Thank you and God Bless you. xo Di

Di,

Great report on Pete and the new world of ostomies. My wife usually changes mine, once a week, and has it down to 5 minutes or less. Finding the right product is the real key, than, and having the stoma's located on as flat a spot as possible really helps. I still have a "blow out", now and then, perhaps every couple of months and in a pinch, I can change it out myself, but its difficult to do standing up looking in a mirror, and lining up everything perfect on the first try.

We keep an emergency kit ready, with a couple of devices pre-cut (the hole, since mine is almond shape, not round). That way, if I have to deal with it, everything is ready.

The VA is now supplying all my Ostomy supplies for free, which helps. I get them in the mail once a month.

With Pete having two, both kinds, I do admire that, and happy to hear that his recovery is ahead of schedule. It took me more than 6 months just to get over the surgery part, so he is doing well.

Thank you too.

David,

It has been all of the above and a couple of other things, including the health of my wife which has over the recent past of greater concern than my own.

First, I have not been entirely away from HW in that I have followed a few threads of interest, including the one about your trip to the football game in Clemson last fall, and a number of others, but just have not felt that I had much to share with the group so have not posted anything in a long while. I continue to admire your struggle with the demon and hope you are as well as possible under the circumstances.

I have been to this point blessed with the result of treatment. As you may recall I was diagnosed in 2009 with G9 disease, and was treated with a combination of hormone therapy, brachytherapy, and IMRT. I was on hormone therapy for two years after the last radiation. I updated my signature to show the latest PSA in March and the trend seems good. We know that G9 is a bad cancer but at this point I am trying to stay focused on the positive results.

Would love to get together. If you have my private email please send me a note and we can talk more.

San Carlos,

Thanks for making contact. Sorry to hear of your wife's troubles.

Glad you are ok, and I will e-mail you later this evening.

Just got back from a 3-day RV weekend on Keowee, breaking in our new travel trailer.
