I am 58, my wife will soon be 60. She has had low estrogen for years but due to her family history of breast cancer no gynecologist will give her estrogen supplementation. In fact it seems even without family history of cancer postmenopausal women don't get estrogen supplementation any more out of higher rates of breast and ovarian cancer. So she suffers with depression, no sex drive, hot sweats, and shaving a lot due to the imbalance of the low E with her T level (yes women do have some T).
I have been taking androgel for almost 2 years now and have returned my bone mass to normal, have decreased depression and increased energy, maybe a little more sex drive. So T is working for me. But my wife is terrified of getting exposed to the androgel and making her condition worse. I always apply androgel after a shower and wash my hands thoroughly afterwards. Normally if we have sex I try and shower ahead of time. I guess my question is to other androgel/tesim users out there, is there any other precautions you do to protect your wife/girlfriend from exposure? Would my dirty clothes or changing the linens being washed by her put her at risk? Should she wear gloves or is that overkill? How long after androgel is applied to the skin would touching the skin expose somebody to the T? Is your wife/girlfriend afraid like mine is, and have any of them actually been exposed and affected their health?
