We all know the less desirable side effects of ADT. Hot flushes, loss of Libido, fatigue, weight gain etc. These affect different people to different degrees and I really can't complain. I am into the 9th month of my 12 month plan, and while I am looking forward to a break, things haven't been too bad.
However as well as the bad, I have noticed a few more positive side effects. While I can't be 100% sure these are due to ADT, they have all appeared since I started the program, so I am assuming they are attributable.
Hair growth. My wife cuts my hair and assures me it is much thicker than before, even to the extent of covering the bald patch I have on my crown.
Conversely I have noticed that my facial hair has slowed down it's growth. I am fair skinned so don't develop a 5 o'clock shadow anyway, but now I coud easily skip a day shaving without looking too untidy.
Leg cramps. I normally experience leg cramps in bed, often quite severe. Since starting ADT these have disappeared, which is a great relief.
However probably the most bizarre and amusing is that I have developed a dose of the giggles. I am normally a quiet laugher. I can be very amused by something I see on TV but I don't usually laugh out loud, but recently I find myself in uncontrolled bouts of laughter with tears rolling down my cheeks. My wife has always made me laugh, she is a bit of an actress and a great mimic, and while I have always found her antics a bit amusing, I again find myself in hysterics to the extent that I can't speak and I end up peeing myself, not the best when I am trying to control incontinence. Fortunate that I am always wearing a pad. She has taken advantage of this and whenever my incontinence is getting me down, she will do something to make me laugh and it very quickly changes my mood.
Anyone else found any positives to ADT? (other than a 0 PSA)
My only plus was 0 PSA, the rest was hell......my moods were horrible and fuses were short according to the people around me!
