Mel - any time you get some metrics or lack thereof, you have made some progress.
It sounds like your case is more akin to Wampuscats or Sonny than to mine.
I can't answer your question about
that form of surgery but sure Dr Lam can.
If you end up opting for radiaiton I highly recommend the 5 fractions of SBRT at UCLA by Dr Chris King that Tall Allen pointed me towards. I have had no side effects so far. I combined it with Provenge that you can also discuss with Dr Lam as his colleague Dr Scholz wrote an article on "abscopal effect" where combination makes radiation even more effective.prostate-cancer.org/abscopal-effect/
Regarding fear of chemo, that is old school thinking to avoid chemo as long as you can using other remedies first until all are exhausted. The recent study that showed early chemo with something like 16 months survival versus typical 4 month for most other remedies is quite compelling.
Luckily you are the compiler as between Mayo clinic results and Dr Lam you will have lots of data to turn into information.
Feel free to call me if you want to discuss after you meet with Dr. Lam.
Good luck and keep us posted.
