Are your PSA tests all with the same lab? That last one could be an error, infection, etc.
Funny you should say that Shaba.Doug. because I have been thinking along those lines for some time now. All my previous PSA tests up to 5.1 were done at the same lab. When I decided to change to another hospital they came up with the 19 in there own lab. When I saw my new uro said that reading could be "spurious" But he never ordered another. So the first thing I will ask when I have my MDT meeting on the 25th will be that I want a fresh PSA test done before deciding on any treatment. I am also going to ask about
a second opinion on my slides. It is not normally something that would be done over here, and if they confirm that I will say "why not" It is my body, my life, I want a second opinion before making any life changing decisions. I will also mention what happened with Pratoman today and say that with a second opinion my 3+4 could be downgraded to 3+3. I don't care if I upset them, as I have now stepped up a gear and gone into "warrior" mode. Also after reading other threads I am going to make a long list of questions to surprise them with my knowledge, to show that I am not just some random numpty who they can twist into taking whatever they suggest.....Grrrrrrrrrr. I feel better after that, so bring it on!Caspar, good for you.
And don't just tell them you want a second opinion on the slides. Tell them you want it from a pathologist who specializes in prostate pathology. You don't just want an opinion from someone who looked at 10 slides from someone's breast before looking at your prostate cells.
Go get em.
