First things first; Paul is a 9 year member of the ZERO club and counting. All of PCa and TCa markers are ideal. Good news at our house continues on :)

Second; Though not on the same PCa topic, our son, Chris had a long awaited hip replacement today. He's doing fantastic. Better than we even thought he would be for the first couple of weeks. Some of the existing hardware holding / supporting his femur was intact when the surgeon got inside, which meant the plate stayed, leaving him with a shorter healing time ahead.

Long story short; Chris is 26. When he was 12, bone tumors destroyed much of his femur head and neck. He's had limited flexion and hyper rotation of, and shortening of that leg ever since. Five years of planning and Chris was finally ready to be done with the arthritic old gear. Just having him see his legs stand straight for the first time since he was a boy was priceless. The whole family watched as he looked down and smiled like a kid on Christmas morning. I think we've had our Thanksgiving

I don't see any good news here. It all looks like great news to me.

Swim - What wonderful news! So happy for you, Paul, Chris & your whole family. No one deserves to go through such a full plate of bad stuff but I do know you all deserve to be whole and happy.
Always wishing you the best,
Susan

Great news!

My older brother had a hip replacement - I am just amazed at what they can do with that surgery.

Keep that zero going,
Andrew

Thanks everyone. I often think about how blessed we've been over these past many years. Paul is healthy, Chris is healthy. If that isn't enough of a blessing, our daughter Devanie, who has had six open heart surgeries and a few major health crisis in her lifetime... she's s doing great. We have a wonderful life, the memories of one lovely child, a beautiful baby grand daughter, & terrific Son in Law. Life moves forward faster than we'd like, trials and all. Take the time to smell the roses, enjoy the moment, and take nothing for granted. Wiser words have never been spoken :)

Wow! More Thanksgiving blessings! Seeing a couple of names I don't see very often anymore is just so wonderful :-) I really need to pop in more often to visit both old and new. You all make my day :-)

Great news, Vicki. Yep, I think this is your Thanksgiving. Sure beats turkey. Glad to hear everyone is doing well and it sounds like you have a very happy household. Good to hear from one of my original welcoming crew.

Hi Swim,

Great news overall. My CJ is planning a hip replacement and his name is "Chris" too. I'll take that as a good sign :-) So glad you popped in, and even gladder not to need your wonderful advice for many years, but keep popping in! Lana

Holy Guacamole! This thread really brought the forum long-timers out of the woodwork--at last count seven of us responded to the OP, a nice surprise! All the best to each of you.
