I'll just put this out here, and every one can make what they will of it.
Like others, I try to stay in top physical condition. For the past 10 years, I've worked out with a personal trainer 2x per week (I might've stopped at some point but I meet some great new clients through him) and I play in an organized pick-up basketball league two-three times a week. 10 years ago I was about
25 lbs. overweight at 195 lbs. and now I'm about
seven-10 lbs. over what I'd like to be (170 lbs.). My PCP found about
five years ago my T was consistently low, like between 200-300 if I remember right.
I tried the cream for a while but got tired of doing that. I went to the once every two weeks injection of T supplement that I gave myself. I think it was 100 mg. Evidently I was supposed to get a PSA at the three or six month mark but actually I got it at the 10 month mark - as I needed a refill on the T. That's the first time it was high and it turns out I had prostate cancer.
My RO said the T treatment didn't cause my cancer but might've helped make it known. The first (local) urologist I went to didn't even see me but his NP said the T was probably why I got cancer. She's also the one who brought up castration as a possible treatment of the disease.
