After years of nagging I finely relented and got a colonoscopy yesterday. I had a male RN doing some of the prep work and a prostate biopsy came up while we discussed unpleasant bum related things.
It seems his PSA is over 7 but he's afraid of the biopsy and hasn't gotten one despite his doctor's urging.
There's only so much selling you can do dressed (that can't be the right word) in a hospital gown while having an IV inserted but I did my best.
I was reminded, again, that behind the medical garb and emotional detachment is a set of very human problems. Just a bit surprising in his particular case. (I must have rattled him; he missed twice and finally had to get someone else to insert the needle.)
Oh, and the doc confirmed radiation damage to my colon from my SRT. It's nice to have a second opinion other than my own experience.
