Your story is similar to mine. 18 months after RP my psa went from undetectable to 0.01 and has risen about
0.01 every 4-5 weeks and is now 0.087. I have already consulted several radiation oncologists and urologists and while it is likely I will need IGRT and ADT, I was advised by a leading RO to wait a bit longer just to be sure that the psa does not level off. I had been all set to start ADT but stopped when my psa did not hit 0.1 which for me is about
the point at which I will begin treatment. I was a gleason 4+3 and had perfect pathology so it was surprising to me that my psa increased. However, this sort of thing happens and I will be getting an MRI to see if anything shows up that would help inform my treatment, although this is unlikely. I was told psa doubling times do not matter until after 0.1. Stick to the same lab and get tested every 3 months. When you hit around 0.05 or 0.06 I agree with others you should start getting a plan in place -see the radiation oncologists etc.
psa 4.5, 4 cores taken via MRI guided biopsy 2/13 after 2 failed biopsies a year apart at psa 2 and 3, in 2011 & 2012
