Monday morning I saw my MO for the last Lupron shot in my primary treatment series. This will take me fully-covered out to 35 months on ADT2. When the 4 months of this Lupron shot are up, I'll also stop taking Casodex. And then we'll see what happens! Testosterone recovery isn't even expected to begin for at least a year after end-of-treatment, so this will be a long waiting game. I'm going to do my best to just put it out of mind!
My PSA is still undetectable, <0.1. I am so very grateful that the treatment plan has been effective so far. We won't know how much good the radiation therapy (curative intent) did until the Lupron wears off.
My MO said we'll wait six months to check PSA and T again, and then go to quarterly PSA checks with annual doctor visits just to stay in touch.
So, technically done, at least "no more shots in kiester" for me!
Good luck and be patient on the T return!
