John!!, It sounds like you're on what is a pretty common path. As BB said, it can take up to 2 years to get it back. Most literature even says that consideration of slings or AUS shouldn't begin until 2 years, and you're a long way from that.
Something that may sound counter-intuitive: For me, I find that I'm more likely to have those drips when exerting myself when I'm not pushing the water. Keeping my fluid intake up makes it better, not worse. Things that irritate the bladder can also be an issue for some: caffiene, high-tannin wine, alcohol, can all trigger the spasm and leak situation.
