So, I lost my zero and I am trying to come out of denial and get started with a secondary treatment. I let my primary physician know that I would need a referral for insurance purposes and he is well aware that I think I am a knowledgeable patient.
Anyways, his staff calls and tells me that he is referring me to a Uro. I google the Uro and all he is qualified to do is Robotic Surgery. No SRT or HT qualifications. I decided to see if this Uro will actually try to get me to come in for recurrence after RRP. Well I never hear from his office, but get a letter in the mail stating that my insurance has approved the following with the Uro.
Diag- Malignant neoplasm
Office/Outpatient visit new
Assay of PSA Total
US Urine capacity measure
Urinalysis nonauto w/scope
US Exam ABDO back wall
This was requested by my PCP. At first I was laughed, but now I am getting worried. I don't think I have ever heard of a cystoscopy for rising psa after primary treatment unless there were some reason for it.
