Festive greetings to all,
I've been desperately researching for better understanding of how my husband could possibly have rising PSA after only 3 months on Firmagon/Degerelex. From what I have read, his PCa must be extremely aggressive and may be hard to treat.
I'm wondering if he might have the BRCA2 gene. His mother and 4 of her sisters had breast cancer and his sister has advanced rectal cancer.
I understand that Olaparib has been very effective for many men with mPCa but I wonder if this drug might be even more effective and possibly curative upstream in the journey as soon as it is known that a man has PCa and BRCA2.
I'm not sure if I can get BRCA2 testing in Canada- anyone know how much it costs?
Anyone with BRCA2 willing to share their experience?
Thank you so much!
