Bob's on day 12 of SRT and got his 2nd. Firmagon shot two days ago. He has a history of high blood pressure but in 2014 when he lost 15 lbs. he no longer needed it and hasn't taken any since and has maintained normal bp range. Now his BP is through the roof every day 166/104, 148/103, etc. you get the picture. He's going to the GP today to get some meds but I'm wondering if anyone has had any experience with their bp going up during SRT or Firmagon treatment? I googled and what I found on the firmagon a very small percentage (1%) had hypertension but that's all I could find.

I had SRT that finished in December 2016. My RO was about an hour away and my blood pressure would always be 10 - 15 higher than normal. However, when I had a local regular local medical appointment during this time my blood pressure was normal.
To this day I'm not sure if it was the hour drive or the blood pressure machine they used?
I started Firmagon a few months ago with no increase in BP.

I was wondering if it's the drive (2 hours one way in heavy traffic). Here at the house it's a little high (143/93) but not as high as when he's at the doctor. Good to know your experience. Thank you.

My first guess would be the stress of treatment, not the treatment itself.

2 hours of driving rises my BP.

I was on blood pressure medication prior to my diagnosis. When I got diagnosed, I changed my diet and work out intensity drastically. A week before I got my Lupron shot, my PCP took me completely off the BP meds because I no longer needed them. My lifestyle changes brought my BP to excellent range. A few months into Lupron, my BP started to go back up even though I continue the changes I made. I still only need 1/2 the BP med dose as before, but I certainly think that the Lupron is what caused my BP to rise again.
