ok dr says prostititus,,,put me on Doxy,,,,for 4 weeks,,,when should I retest psa ??

Ask your doctor...If it was me, maybe 2 weeks after the antibiotics stop...

Yes, you should retest after you stop the antibiotics.

I know you SHOULD retest after stopping,,,but my ? is how SOON after stopping ??

1 to 3 months. give or take a few weeks. There's no fixed number. prostatitis doesn't always respond to antibiotics, so you might not get the results you want.
If it were me, I'd be asking the doctor that question.

I'd retest right after I finished the treatments. It either worked or it didn't. I'd also add an anti-inflammatory 400mg 3x a day for the last week of antibiotics.

PSA has a half life in you blood. Takes awhile for levels to drop after any form of treatment. Also some treatments take time to be effective.
Nothing happens fast is PSA/prostate land.

Mine dropped from 4.8 to 4.2 the 1st month next psa 3 months 4.2 to 3.7 next 3 months 3.7 to 2.8,not sure that everyone has the same outcome,as someone said prostatitis is very hard to cure.

I took cypro for 3 weeks and tested right after ...PSA dropped from 4.45 to 3.2.
