I am currently using VA healthcare and so far I have been pleased with the level of care I've gotten. I have metastic prostate cancer currently on primary ADT. Lately I've been concerned because my PSA has risen from a low of 0.19 to 1.77 and appears to doubling every 2 months. I also had Docetaxel chemo last summer.
The issue is my VA doctor is not concerned about
my rising PSA and doesn't want to start second-line ADT unless/until I have symtoms such as pain to indicate progression. I'm fine with waiting at this point, but will be uncomfortable if my PSA continues to double. I'm wondering if there are others here currently using VA, and what their experiences have been. There's also the option for me to switch VA facilities and/or get private insurance again.
